Nel 1936 venne prescritto un nuovo copricapo per gli appartenenti alla Hitler Jugend che doveva sostituire il precedente berretto con visiera.
Questo "Sommer-Muetzen" doveva essere indossato durante il periodo estivo e, soprattutto, durante i campi estivi ( Reichsausbildungslager ) introdotti nel 1939 per dare un'istruzione pre-militare ai giovani tra i 16 anni e mezzo e i 18 in previsione di un loro impiego bellico. Venivano indossati da tutti i gradi fino al livello di Oberscharfuehrer,
Questa bustina è in condizioni perfette, relizzata in buon tessuto di twill di colore kaki ( bruno chiaro ). E' stata probabilmente conservata in magazzino perchè non presenta segni di usura. I "copri orecchie" laterali sono simulati come in tutti gli originali e hanno un gallone rosso che corre sul bordo superiore che indica l'appartenenza ai membri regolari della Hitler Jugend.
Sulla parte frontale della bustina è cucito il diamante della Hitler Jugend, del tipo BeVo tessuto a macchina. la fodera in rayon color crema interna e priva di qualsiasi difetto e porta stampigliata la taglia "54".
Un ampia fascia parasudore di color grigio, corre lungo tutto il bordo interno. Sotto la fascia, sul lato sinistro è ancora presente l'etichetta dell'RZM con il numero di fabbricante "1073" che sta ad indicare Peter Kuepper, cioè il famoso marchio "Pekuro" che contraddistingueva i berretti di maggior qualità dell'epoca. |

| Hitler Jugend Summer Schiffchen (Overseas Cap) with RZM Tag |
| This size 54 marked Hitler Youth summer cap is a perfect, unissued example made of dark reddish-tan colored cotton twill fabric, quite lightweight, and in superb condition. It has been stored over the years in such a way that it has an incredibly nice press to it. The side skirts on these caps are simulated only (non-functional), with a top edge piped in bright red cord. This type of cap would have been worn by members of the Hitler Jugend during the summertime months. The piece is totally clean with a fine looking HJ diamond insignia (BeVo-like weave) applied to the front. The cream colored rayon lined interior is absolutely spotless and stamped 54. A wide grey leather sweatband (the leather itself is quite thin, but still supple) around the entire inside base of the cap. Behind the band at the left rear is a brown oilcloth RZM tag, with the maker number 1073 (this would be Peter Küpper), with the nomenclature Sommer=Mütze. Extremely nice. |
