| Very rare and original document issued in Paris on May,17 1941 by “Der Kommandant von Gross-Paris” as a pass for an Italian naval officer. The pass is in very excellent conditions with all writings,stamps and signatures quite well preserved. On the front “Der Kommandant von Gross-Paris” ( The Great-Paris Command ) heading, “Befristeter Ausweis” ( Short-dated indentity card ) N. 051731 title with rank and name of the Italian Ensign: “Aspirante Guardamarina ( Ensign ) Sallustro Oreste”. The pass allowed the Ensign to go into middle-town for only one day. The pass is stamped and signed by a german 2nd Lieutenant. On the reverse the laws to respect and among what the General Headquarters (Platzkommandantur) address in Place de l’Opera, Nr.2 that corresponded on Grand Hotel de Paris. On June,14 1940 the city, glory of France, being defenceless, was occupied by General Von Kucher XVII Army. The German Military Authority in Paris was represented by the MBH (Militarbefehlshaber - Military Commandant) attended by a General Staff with a Military Administration. The Gross-Paris Kommandantur covered 4 departments and utilized from 5000 to 6000 German soldiers to watch over the territory. They were members of the Feldgendarmerie ( Military Police ) togheter with some French policemen or of the GFP - Geheime Feldpolizei ( Secret Military police ). |
