Distintivo originale delle forze di riserva delle SA ( Sturmabteilungen der Nsdap ) indossato dai membri della formazione "SAR II" ( SA Reserve II ). Il distintivo argentato ha la forma di uno scudo con due ali ai lati smaltato di nero con al centro una svastica d'argento. Sul retro la sigla "Ges. Gesh." ( Gesetzlich Geshutze - Protetto Legalmente ) scritta sulle due ali e uno spillo zigrinato. Sotto l'attacco dello spillo anche il marchio del fabbricante.
Un'unita' di "Riserva" delle SA venne formata ufficialmente nel 1929, sebbene attiva da almeno due anni prima, formata da uomini sopra i 40 anni di eta' oppure impossibilitati a svolgere pieno servizio a causa dei loro impegni di lavoro. Prima del 1933 la Riserva ammontava a circa il 20% delle forse delle SA ma, dopo l'ascesa al potere di Hitler, questa percentuale crebbe notevolmente.
Nel novembre 1933 era divisa in due formazioni: "SA Reserve I" ( SAR I ) composta da uomini di eta' tra i 35 e i 45 anni e "SA Reserve II" ( SAR II ) da uomini di eta' superiore ai 45 anni.
Queste due unita' di riserva avevano assorbito il grosso dei veterani riuniti nelle associazioni "Stahlhelm" e "Kyffauserbund". I membri di queste organizzazioni al disotto dei 35 anni vennero trasferiti alle SA attive. Dopo la "Notte dei lunghi coltelli" ,il 30 giugno 1934, la struttura della Riserva fu cambiata abbassando i limiti di eta' dei due gruppi. Nel 1938 la struttura delle SA venne nuovamente modificata in assetto militare "pre guerra" e i due gruppi di Riserva vennero assorbiti dalla struttura principale dell'organizzazione. |

The SA was divided into 21 groups. This number is in the course of the following years in connection with the administrative needs of the war and conquest of new territories have been changed.
