Per molti anni Adolf Hitler usò abitualmente una casa vacanze con una magnifica vista sulle montagne dell'Obersalzberg sovrastanti il piccolo paese di Berchtesgaden. Conosciuta inizialmente come "Haus Wachenfeld", venne ampliata da Hitler a metà degli anni '30 e rinominata "Berghof" ( Casa di Montagna ). Egli, il suo entourage e gli ospiti invitati di volta in volta trascorrevano molto tempo qui, d'estate e d'inverno, all'interno della zona controllata dalle SS, conosciuta come "Fuherergebiet" ( Zona del Fuehrer ).

La casa venne bombardata e ridotta a pezzi dall'aviazione inglese negli ultimi giorni di guerra. Ne erano rimaste in piedi solo le rovine fino al 1952 quando fu letteralmente spianata con l'esplosivo. Da allora per anni la municipalità di Berchtesgaden ha speso un'infinità di denaro tentando di smantellare, distruggere, portare via, seppellire o comunque cancellare l'evidenza che Hitler, Goering, Bormann, Speer e gli altri gerarchi nazisti erano vissuti sull'Obersalzberg.
Recentemente hanno incoraggiato la costruzione di un enorme,brutto e moderno Intercontinental Hotel nel preciso posto dove Hermann Goering aveva la sua casa di montagna, demolendo lo storico "Hotel Platterhof" per creare un parcheggio davanti al "Centro Interpretativo Anti-Nazista" che sorge dove una volta vi era la casa di Hitler.

Circa dieci anni fa, il Municipio di Berchtesgaden ordinò anche la distruzione della "Casa degli ospiti" di Hitler all'interno del "Hitler Gebiet" sull'Obersalzberg.
Era un altro tentativo di cancellare ogni traccia della presenza di Hitler e del nazismo entro la giurisdizione di Berchtesgaden.
Per oltre 60 anni questa casa, che aveva ospitato i personaggi più illustri dell'epoca, era rimasta in piedi vicino alle montagne amate da Hitler e, dopo il 1945, vicino alle rovine del Berghof. Essa era in quel momento l'unico edificio nell'area Hitler, rimasto in piedi che avesse mantenuto l'aspetto originale.
Si sarebbe potuto restaurla facilmente ma si preferì demolirla per far posto al nuovo Centro anti-nazista sopra il Platterhof Hotel. Prima che la "Casa degli Ospiti" di Hitler venisse abbattuta, alcune porzioni del sofftto ( i pannelli sotto i coppi del tetto ) vennero poste in salvo.

Il pezzo di legno, delle dimensioni di 19,80 cm x 9, fa parte proprio di questi pannelli originali ed è offerto in vendita, accompagnato dal suo certificato di originalità della società americana che a suo tempo si assicurò i reperti storici.
Il soffitto in legno di pino è stato infatti tagliato in tante piccole "fette", ognuna delle quali è stata numerata ed incisa al laser. E' montata su un supporto in legno al di sotto del quale è applicato il certificato con l'indicazione della data e della provenienza.

HITLER BERGHOF SOUVENIR
For many years German Chancellor Adolf Hitler had a holiday home with a magnificent view on the Obersalzberg high above the small Bavarian town of Berchtesgaden. First known as Haus Wachenfeld Hitler vastly expanded it in the mid 1930s and renamed it the Berghof or Mountain Home. He and his entourage, and invited guests spent a lot of time there, winter and summer, inside the SS guarded compound known as the ,,Führergebiet’’.
The house was bombed to bits by the British Air Force in the very last days of World War II.
It stood in ruins until 1952 when it was leveled with explosives. Over the years since then the town of Berchtesgaden has spent a great deal of money attempting to dismantle, destroy, carry away, bury or otherwise obliterate surface evidence that Hitler, Göring, Bormann, Speer and other top Nazis ever lived on the Obersalzberg. Very recently they encouraged the erection of an enormous, ugly, modern Intercontinental Hotel on the very spot where Reichsmarschall Hermann Göring once had his alpine home, and they leveled the historic Hotel Platterhof to create a parking lot for an anti-Nazi "Interpretive Center" where Hitler's guesthouse once stood.
Over a decade ago the government of the town of Berchtesgaden, Bayern (Bavaria), Germany ordered the destruction of the Guesthouse of German Chancellor Adolf Hitler inside the Hitler Gebiet or “Hitler Compound” on the Obersalzberg.
It was simply another in a series of efforts on their part to obliterate all traces of Hitler and the Nazis within the political jurisdiction of the town of Berchtesgaden.
For over 60 years the Guesthouse, where Benito Mussolini once stayed, stood next to Hitler’s own mountain home, and after 1945 next to the ruins of the Berghof. It was the ONLY building in the Hitler area on the Obersalzberg in its ORIGINAL CONDITION.
It might have been easily restored but was instead demolished to make way for an Anti-Nazi Interpretive Center below the Platterhof Hotel.
Before Hitler’s Guesthouse was torn down, remaining portions of the soffit (the molded panels under the eves of the roof) were removed and saved. In order to provide parking for visitors to the Anti-Nazi Interpretive Center next to the ruins of the Berghof, the historic Platterhof Hotel was leveled and the ground it stood on was paved over.
The 2-3/4 x 7 inch relic shown in our top photo and offered here, is AN ACTUAL PIECE of that original pine soffit (S) from Hitler’s Guesthouse on the Obersalzberg above Berchtesgaden, Germany, removed in 1996. It is laser engraved as shown with the details of what it is, and the back side of the mounting bracket has a signed Certificate of Authenticity containing all specific data about its provenance. Each piece varies very slightly in appearance but the one shown is typical of each.
